Music History:

Max Tunnell joined the Town North Concert Band in 1977 as the band's second director, taking over from Buddy King. He served for 9 years, the longest of any of the band's directors.

Max went to Wichita Falls High School, studied Music at Midwestern State University, and studied Tuba at University of North Texas. He had an illustrious career as a music teacher in Dallas-area schools and a brief tour in Galveston. Since 2011 he has worked as the low brass instructor for Rowlett High School and Coyle Middle School.
